Dubbed as the Lethal Combination, David Diaz (Mexican-American) and Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines will do battle and clash in what could be 2008’s fight of the year!

Update:

Pacquiao Diaz Fight Video Available

At this early stage, boxing fans are already anticipating for the fight results of the Pacquiao-Diaz bout . The fight is scheduled on June 28 at 9 PM Eastern Time. (6 PM for Californians and the rest of the West Coast and 10PM on Central USA). For Filipino fans in the Philippines, the fight will start at 9 AM in the morning of Sunday (June 29). For sure, lots of Filipino fans in Manila and elsewhere in the Philippines are anticipating this great fight of national boxing icon dubbed as “National Fist” (Pambansang Kamao in Tagalog). After being hit with a typhoon earlier this month, the country will try to forget about the loss of lives, at least for awhile. Manny has partly dedicated this fight for all the victims of the typhoon and the ferry that sank which killed hundreds of his countrymen.

Free Live Streaming Video of Pacquiao Diaz Fight
As with the previous fights of Pacquiao, free live streaming video telecast of the bout is available for those who would like to watch it. Some Philippine cities and towns are offering big screen viewing on town gyms and sports centers for fans. What I just don’t know is how delayed the telecast will be and if there will be lots of television commercials included in these live video telecast of the Pacquiao Diaz fight. Fight results might get delayed if that is the case. One thing is sure. There will be lots of boxing fight fans out there who will try to get on there way to have a glimpse of the Pacquaio Diaz bout. There are insinuations that Pacquiao might retire as soon as next year so for fight fans every fight counts. A live broadcast on the Internet was reported but the link I checked on the Pacquiao Diaz fight on SopCast didn’t work.

Lethal Combination - What are they fighting for?
Manny Pacquiao is in his quest to become the first Asian and Filipino to win to world titles in four weight classes, after capturing WBC and IBF belts at flyweight, junior featherweight and super featherweight. It’s a tall order as his opponent, David Diaz thrives at being the underdog in a fight. He knows very well how good Pacquiao is and really prepared well for this fight. For David Diaz, this could be a turning point in his career. If David Diaz overcomes the punching power of Manny Pacquiao, it could propel him to boxing’s superstardom. David Diaz is one of the better underrated boxers around. Defeating Pacquiao will definitely get him out there in the big leagues.

If David wins the Pacquiao Diaz fight, Mexican fight fans will definitely celebrate as Pacquaio is known all over after he vanquished some of the top Mexican boxers around, Barrera, Marquez and Morales.

Who is David Diaz?
David Diaz is the current WBC Lightweight Champion. He recently defeated and successfully defended his belt against Ramon Montano last March in a fight some say as lackluster. One of his famous conquest is Eric Morales. He won the belt on a fight with Jose Armando Sta. Cruz. David Diaz is not afraid of Manny Pacquiao’s punching power as he stated in some interviews. He’s ready for the fast hands of Pacquiao.

Pacquiao Diaz Fight Result
As with all the boxing fans out there, I will be watching this bout and will be posting the result here on this site. It’s really not the hype that I like in boxing as an old friend of mine once said, it’s all about the result. Did David Diaz prepared enough for the fight result that he wants to happen or did Manny Pacquiao did the better preparation?

In the end, we’ll see from the results of the fight. I know everyone is already excited.

Who Wins the Pacquiao - Diaz Fight? I predict a Pacquiao win.

Pacquiao Wins by TKO on the 9th !!!!

Update: Pacquiao landed a big punch on the 9th round to KO David Diaz. David Diaz didn’t look like he has a chance whatsoever. Pacquiao was so dominating the fight that the only hope for Diaz to win is to score a knockout on the last round. Sadly for him, Pacquiao gave it to him first. Wow! This is really a very very good news for fans of Manny Pacquiao! A big thanks to MSTV3 for the free live video feed of the Pacquiao Diaz fight.

For those searching for videos of the Pacquiao Diaz fight, I will update this site once I get to find a good copy. Stick around. It would have been nice if the live video feed I saw allows copying. Oh well, I’ll be able to get one I’m sure. Video here of Pacquiao Diaz Video

Note: Fights fans of Boxing or MMA will find the current Ultimate Fighting Championship offering on the Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs Forrest Griffin as another great bout between two fighters. The UFC86 Results will give you the winners of the fight. Check it out.

I predict a Manny Pacquiao win on this one. David Diaz is good but Manny Pacquiao is the better fighter. Yes, we’re all waiting for the fight result. I think the fight has already started at this time. So, keep us in touch

Boxing Fan on 28 June, 2008 at 9:11 pm #

As a Filipino, I’ll go for Manny. I hope he wins it again this time. Although, David Diaz seems to be a dangerous foe. I think Manny’s speed will conquer David. The fight result will tell us.

Fight Result Prediction on 28 June, 2008 at 9:47 pm #

I predict a win by David Diaz by TKO. Manny will leave open his defense and David will catch him quick. Just one punch is enough. I don’t think Pacquaio has adjusted already on the new weight class.

I want David Diaz to win. I’m tired of Pacquiao. I think he should now hang his gloves. Let’s wait for a rematch. Where can I find a video of the fight? Do you knowwhere it is available? I really would like to have my eyes on that Pacquiao Diaz video.

Matthew on 28 June, 2008 at 11:57 pm #

It’s great to hear that Pacquiao won the fight and by TKO. He’s really a classy fighter. The result of the fight speaks by itself. At 29, he’s got more than 50 fights at his belt and he seems to be just starting. He’s now a 4 division world title holder and the pound for pound boxing king. Congratulation for a great fight!

Xeldec on 29 June, 2008 at 12:27 am #

@Marcus - David Diaz didn’t stand a chance. From the first round till he got knocked out on the ninth round, he wasn’t really connecting. I’ll update this page with videos of the fight once I get my hands on them.
