Kimbo Slice vs James Thompson
Kimbo Slice survived as he looked like he’ll gonna lose the fight to James “Colossus” Thompson. In the first round, James was able to pin Kimbo against the cage receiving elbow after elbow to the face. Kimbo just doesn’t seem to be able to find an antidote to Thompson’s takedowns and found himself on the ground several times. Kimbo’s punching on the last round gave him victory as he punctured through James’ cauliflower ear.
In the bloody last round, Kimbo Slice found his target and was able to punch through James Thompson’s cauliflower ear. Blood immediately bursted out of the ear and Kimbo took advantage, gave the cauliflower ear a barrage of punches. The blood and the seeming wandering eyes of James probably caused the referee to immediately stop the fight.
Kimbo wins this time.
What’s a cauliflower ear?
From wiekipedai, cauliflower ear (also hematoma auris or perichondrial hematoma) is a condition most common among wrestlers, rugby players, mixed martial artists, and boxers. If the external portion of the ear suffers a blow, a blood clot or other fluid may collect under the perichondrium. This separates the cartilage from the overlying perichondrium that is its source of nutrients, causing the cartilage to die. This leads to a formation of fibrous tissue in the overlying skin. When this happens, the outer ear becomes permanently swollen and deformed, thus resembling a cauliflower.Headgear that protects the ears is worn in wrestling and rugby (where it is called a “scrum cap”), many martial arts, and other contact sports to help prevent this condition.
